How to meld words and music. Alba Arikha will read from her acclaimed novel, Two Hours, set in 1980's Paris, London and New York, and will intersperse it with piano improvisation and songs from her latest album, Et Tout Ça. Joining her will be her daughter, Arianna Branca.

Alba Arikha has published six books. Her new novel, Two Hours, was published by Eris Press in Spring 2024. Her memoir, Major/Minor, was shortlisted for the 2012 Spear’s awards. An opera adaptation was performed in 2020 at the Playground Theatre, in London – the initial production was directed by Academy Awards Hugh Hudson, of Chariots of Fire fame. Her novel Where to Find Me was longlisted for the 2020 Wingate Prize. Her books have been translated into eight languages, and her essays and poems have appeared in the TLS, London Magazine, and Tortoise Media among others. Alba is also a pianist/songwriter and has recorded two CD’s of her songs.

Arianna Branca is a 23-year-old archaeology and anthropology student at the University of Edinburgh. She is also an actress and singer. As part of the ‘Mythography’ troupe, she has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and other venues, and will be pursuing a master’s degree in drama school next year.
