Eve is on the brink of a ground-breaking career move; she is about to become the first woman in her company to land the role of CEO. Yes, she has had to compromise, make personal sacrifices, but it was all worth it... right?
Enter Heidi, a mysterious young executive with an agenda. As Heidi gains a foothold within the company, her presence begins to threaten the established culture in which the company thrives, as well as the position that Eve has worked so hard for. Will Eve’s ambition triumph over her conscience, or is it time to smash it all to the ground and start again?
Written by exciting new playwright Tim Edge and directed by Lydia McKinley, ONE OF THE BOYS offers a bitingly funny, sharp and eye-opening commentary on corporate sexism and workplace misogyny, as well as acting as a rallying call for positive change.

LYDIA MCKINLEY (DIRECTOR) is a theatre director specialising in the staging of new writing and is part of the literary team at The Finborough. She has developed new writing across the country, at venues such as The Park, Tobacco Factory, Liverpool Playhouse, Bristol Old Vic, Southwark Playhouse, and the Arcola. Her training includes an MA in Drama Directing from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
TIM EDGE (WRITER) debut play, Under The Black Rock, was staged to great critical acclaim in the main auditorium at the Arcola Theatre in 2023. One Of The Boys is Tim’s second play. His third play That Look is in development, as is a TV drama screenplay, Parentification.
ELLIE WINTOUR (DESIGNER) credits include: Her Green Hell (Theatre Royal Plymouth); Blizzard (Soho Theatre) and Grounded (The Bridge Theatre). Credits as an Associate Designer at Es Devlin studio include: The Crucible (The National Theatre & Gielgud Theatre); A Different Stage (UK tour); Here Not Here (Gothenburg Opera House); Renaissance World Tour for Beyoncè.
BLUEBIRD PRODUCTIONS is a theatre production company, set-up in 2022 to offer young actors, directors, designers and other creatives greater access to paid opportunities in theatre. Bluebird's first production, Under The Black Rock, was staged at the Arcola Theatre in 2023. Over fifty percent of the actors and creatives on this project were under the age of thirty-five. Bluebird's second production, One Of The Boys featuring a significant number of emerging creatives - is Bluebird's second production.
